Saturday Morning

The "super smart doctor guy" was in this morning to see dad. We learn a little more about him each time, buy it's funny how we keep forgetting to ask his name. He's kind of like superman. His goal in the next three days is for dad to have a tracheotomy. This will further assist him with his oxygen but will free his mouth from the obnoxious respirator tubes. Even if dad can't talk with the trach, we know it will so ease his discomfort. So our main prayer request for the next few days is that he gets the tracheotomy, and that it's bye-bye respirator. We may see little or no progress for the next few days, but we continue to pray for signs that dad is still there. A nurse was questioning him about his birthday earlier. She asked if it was in July, and he shook his head. She asked if it was in September, and he shook his head. She asked about December, and he nodded yes. Good little signs that dad has some memory.

We may go in today at different times for just a little while, but we may need to give him rest. The nurses said he is pretty worn out from yesterday, it seemed to drain him to see all his kids. God love him. He's our little Italian emotional train wreck. So we continue to ask for no visitors, we have to love him enough to let him heal. There will be lots of time in the months to come that he will really need lots of visitors and interaction, so don't worry, your time will come! We promise. Our family can't thank you enough for all the comments and encouragement. Know that we check it daily (numerous times!) and it feeds our souls to read the verses and prayers that you are sending out. To God be the glory, great things He has done....and will continue to do.

Hey Bohrman Family,
We've been checking this blog every day to keep up with Pat's progress. What a blessing it has been, what an honor to lift him up in prayer. I've let Josh and Danny know about "Mr. Bohrman, PJ's Dad" too...(Hey PJ, remember Josh from grade school and Countryside?)

Dear Bohrman's,
We are so excited about the progress Pat is making. Each day we send you all a big hug and keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Amy thank you so much for doing such an incredible job on this blog. With your postings we can feel a little of what you all are going through, and it's a journey I wished you did not have to make. But I learned that out of life's most ugly moments/experiences come the most profound and beautiful. Journeys that bind us together and reveal the true character of each involved, near and far.
Ward and I race to the computer every morning and several times throughout the day to check for updates. We feel so connected even with the thousands of miles separating us. Stay strong and know that we love you all.
Lisa and Ward

Hi Bohrman Family,
We have been so blessed by this blog. Thank-you so much for your diligence in it. It is so obvious how many of us you all have touched, and how much you all are loved. One of my favorite verses is Isaiah 40:31 "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint." It is incredible to share with you as you "hope in the Lord", and we know that his promise to you of strength is true. Please don't hesitate to ask for anything you need. Love to you all.
Jim, Heidi, Jaime, and Josh

If your "super smart doctor guy" is who your mom pointed out to me on Wednesday morning, (and I believe it is) he's Dr. John Weigelt, Chief of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery. Jane Z.

Our God has the perfect timing already planned for each step of the healing process. You are wise to set your clocks to God's time zone. As a family, you have all been through a lot. This is not easy on any of you. Unity is the key to walking strong together. Continue to savor and appreciate each moment, as you are doing. There is nothing like a critical situation that draws a family closer and make you value and understand that God puts us in families for a reason. It is so wonderful to see your love, humor and praise in the midst of a situation that would blow most families out of this world. Your faith will grow deeper and your love for each other will strengthen as a result of this experience. Linda Lentz

1 Peter 1:3-7
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Love in Christ, mark

Pay it forward for Pat, inC (in Christ).

Do something today( and everyday) a little bit (or a lot) better for some one. Do it because you can and for the time being Bohr cannot. "What would Bohrman do?" Go ahead...reach out...do it....and pray for Pat and his wonderful, humble, God-loving family....what a lucky, lucky man....if he can have this kind of reach and impact from the confines of a hospital bed...what can we all do from our stations in life....please share your successes!

To the Bohrman family, Please know that God is with you always and at times like this is when is almighty power is revealed even more. My family and I have been through tremendous health issues ourselves this year and can tell you this, From the day they told me I could loose my wife of 21yrs... I began to pray; pray that God would care for her! He has!!! And even though she is still battling her illness we can look forward each and everyday knowing that God is there for not only my family but for all that believe. It's amazing what God can do, so keep praying and serving the lord and He will provide. God Bless You Pat and your family. Our prayers are with you....
