Blah Humbug

Kind of a blah day for Pops....not much new to report. He was very tired from all of the emotion and family time from yesterday, so today was a sleepy day for him. We all agreed he seemed "sad". I think he really is understanding his condition more and more, and the frustration is really setting in. He just wasn't 'there' too much today, he didn't really connect well with anyone, except probably for mom. Although he does seem to really listen to Mike. Mike does a good job trying to explain what has happened to him. Mike also brought him a toffee ice cream bar, so maybe that's why dad is so attentive to him....hmmmmm.

So we just keep on praying...even as he slept tonight we prayed over him, that God would have his way in dad's heart. Days like today get us all down, but we continue to have hope that good things are happening. Hey, even if it seems he made no progress today, we must remember that his mustache is growing...so there is progress! Tomorrow is a new day that will bring new challenges...and hopefully some new baby steps for Pops. We thank God for the peace of knowing dad is in good hands, medically and spiritually speaking! Enjoy the rest of your Christmas night...God bless.

Merry Christmas to the Bohrmans's!!! Thank you so much for all of your updates. Amy, you should be a writer...you have such a gift at expressing yourself with humor and beautiful words all in the same written thought. Sending a Christmas hug and kiss to each of you.

I am only now able to get online (first time today for me, very strange and very late) but we have been praying for you all day. It is good to hear the update, so thank you for writing it Amy.
I am so encouraged by the progress and it is normal to have ups and downs; we all wish it was continuous improvement but there will be those days where you take a step back.
This story of your faith makes it clear that God has been preparing you for this challenge; all of you are demonstrating such strength and it is an amazingly powerful witness of God's goodness. We won't understand it entirely this side of heaven and we don't have to like it, but we do have to trust in Jesus Christ alone. Thank God for sending his son- it makes this years Christmas that much more meaningful this year; hard for sure, but clear that God is good!
Merry Christmas!

"Pearls are the product of pain---precious, tiny jewels conceived through irritation, born of adversity, nursed by adjustment." Chuck Swindoll

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perserverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you be mature and complete, not lacking anything. James 1:2-4 NIV

God wants our arms around Him. God wants to hear us say, "I Love You, Father. I trust You. Whatever You want to give me I accept. I need You. I cling to You. I walk with You. I adore You." Chuck Swindoll

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. Mark 13:30 NIV

Music is a way of drawing us into worship. Reading scripture to others is healing. Praying with others is powerful. God's word brings confindence and assurance that our Heavenly Father is in charge. Allow time to use all your senses to enter into quiet times with God. Let Him whisper in your ear and tell you sweet and comforting words and messages that are just for you during this time. Listen. Be still. Don't miss the blessing. Shhhhhh, the Spirit of God is waiting to reveal special details of the present and the future to you. Sit in the quiet and listen. He will not fail you. Wait on the Lord. He is always available. 24/7

It is not how troubled the sea is that determines the course of your life; it is who the pilot is. The Lord will either calm your storm or allow it to rage while He calms you.

...If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

Hang tight. God knows it all and has a plan. Praying without ceasing is where to find strength, love and peace. Sing praises to our Creator. Read the Bible and find comfort in His words. Wait with hope and expectation for signs and wonders of God's care for the Bohrman family.

Lord,
YOU came into the world to overthrow the powers of darkness. Even though we see suffering and evil, we acknowledge that one day YOU will wipe away our tears and bring about a new world. Victory is YOURS, O LORD. May all creation praise your might and justice. God of mercy, we thank you for protecting us day and night. YOU guard YOUR children with infinite care. You keep us safe from those who try to harm us. YOU deliver us from our enemies. May we place our complete trust in you, now, for YOU are our only refuge. And God of all comfort, invite the Bohrman family to follow YOUR direction so that physically and spiritually they may rest in YOU. Encourage us all with the knowledge that Jesus' birth reclaims our lives from sin. Gently restore us, for it is through YOU that we have our refreshment. AMEN

Father,
I pray that during the frustrating moments - and there will be frustrating moments - that YOU will articulate for Pat what he needs to communicate to get his needs met. YOU are the Father of all knowledge and YOU orchestrate all of life. Thank YOU for the improvements that Pat has already shown and do a mighty healing in Pat and give strength among weariness to the family. Amy, again thank you for keeping all of us informed as to the monumental steps (baby steps can also be monumental) that your earthly father is taking. We are sooooo grateful for your updates and we pray without ceasing that the baby steps will turn in to monumental steps. We consider it a priviledge to lift up Pat for physical, spiritual, emotional, and psychological healing. For our heavenly Father is watching and knows the greatest purposes for your life are probably as close as your average day. Your average day is obviously NOT like the typical day, but in God's almighty hand HE has it all under control. Thank YOU that we can trust in YOU, as YOU fill us with things genuine, lasting, and authentic. We are looking forward in patience and anticipation to YOUR plan for us and the Bohrman family. Thank YOU that YOU are a mighty GOD that can meet every need!! AMEN
Love<><

Greetings Bohrman's. I knew your dad in high school. I found out about the accident on Christmas Eve at my sister Kate Linscott's. Pat and all of you are in my prayers daily now. The attitude coming across in your blog is truly inspiring, and helps puts things in perspective. Thank you for your faith.

Hello to all the Bohrmans. Jeanie, the last thing you should have worried about was returning our cooking pot-but you did it anyway! Thank you and especially for the wonderful note that accompanied it. My prayer partner, Sue Sweitzer and I are praying for Pat and the family everyday and of course Charlie and I are as well. We really appreciate the daily updates on Pat. Please let him know how much we love him and the rest of your crazy crew as well. GOD BLESS YOU BOHRMANS! Charlie and Scotti
