Monotony

Alright, alright, Bears lost. Colts are awesome. End of story. On to less frivolous things....

Pops had a pretty good day off of the respirator. He is having a lot of secretions and coughing probably due to his pneumonia clearing. Other than that, there is much less anxiety with his breathing. Praise God.

Tomorrow's move to the Spinal Cord Unit is still on...we'll see what happens. It will be good for him to get back upstairs to continue rehab. The days become quite monotonous so any change of scenery is welcomed.

We continue to have trust in God's timetable...dad will be in the ICU as long as God wants him there. And I pray that the monotony of the days doesn't lessen the fervency of our prayers. God is in day 58 just as much as He was in day 1. My prayer tonight is that we would continue to seek Him with fervency...even when life seems very, very monotonous.

Dear Bohrmans,

Wonderful news about moving back up to the Rehab Center. Not a day goes by that your many friends don't raise their voices in prayer for all of you! Continue to inspire us by reflecting God's holy light. You are all truely amazing.

Someone asked yesterday if dad reads the blog...we have told him about it and i asked if he wanted me to print the posts and comments out for him. He said he wasn't ready yet, but soon. I think sometimes it's hard for him to face what's happened, and reading this makes him face reality. But he did say he would like to see it in a few weeks...

I did tell him that the "flying skulls" had left a comment. i asked him who they were and he just smiled. Apparently it was a very discriminating high school gang of sorts that did not accept my dad into it's ranks...so in retaliation he started "the friendship club" whose only requirement was you had to be female. I love hearing stuff like that about my dad...too funny.

darling pat,
just so you know, my dearest president of the friendship club, that i--the sole and loyal member--still have the official friendship club membership button you made for me, and that while you were deemed far too nice to be a flying skull, i was similarly seen as too nice to be a flying skull mama. born to be mild? anyway, i am still honored that you asked me, and still treasure the club. i just got out the old yearbook: why wasn't this club listed under our extra-curriculars? when you get home, we'll hold another club meeting and vote on something. love always.

Bohrmans,

Susie and I continue to pray for Pat. Can Pat have visitors other than family? You are all in our hearts and prayers.

God bless,
Ray & Sue Betz

Such a very important reminder, Amy. I think, in our "fast food society" we forget persistance. Pat will remain in our prayers even past his recovery, just because he's a nice guy that we've gotten used to praying for, so he's stuck with the Hargan clan. So excited to hear of his move back up. Josh has some appts. at Froedtert on Feb. 13. We'll be watching the blog to see if he's up for visitors yet. Love to you all. Hargans
